THE LATEST DREAM RAID - page # 10

PAGE 10, PANEL 1;
That is an actual photo of a cut up squid I ate one time. I had it again recently, it wasn't as tasty as I remembered.

PANEL 3;
You can see Kokoro and 'Bennywolf' on the background screens. (Yes, I filled up some of the screens with the same character. This was LITERALLY the last thing I did in the comic.)

THE LATEST DREAM RAID - page # 9

PAGE 9, PANEL 1;
The four legged monster is based off of Iridescent. This is the second reference to Iridescent Ersatz in the comic.

PANEL 2;
The robot punching the giant monster is a 'Mecha-NixDieAlley.'

Her arms and legs were inspired by Voltron. Although, they are clearly not lions. Actually, the colours of the legs don't match Voltron, they match the first Power Rangers Megazord.

Yes the arms are a warthog and a rhino.

The girl pointing up and the robot bear. This was inspired by an actual photo taken of my late step-sister, where she stood on a rogue black bear shot by our father.

Clearly this bear is a reference to Freddy Fazbear.

THE LATEST DREAM RAID - page # 8

PAGE 8; PANEL 1;
The foreground characters are meant to be a tribute to the Naw Kids.

The shape of Waffley's steed was inspired by one of the steeds from Golden Axe.

PANEL 2;
The sword Waffley's holding is the Emberedge.

Some of the hands held high in unison to Waffley's incredible speech were inspired by Mega Man, Samus Aran, and both the Surfing Waffle and Wafflette.

PANEL 3;
Though it wasn't intended, the large muscular character ended up looking like the Ultimate Warrior.

The jewel on his belt's colours match the amiibo logo. Just don't tell Nintendo, k'?

I actually made a real version of the necklace the far right character has on.

PANEL 4;
If you look closely, you can see shadows resembling like Ziz and Pyrotzki.

THE LATEST DREAM RAID - page # 7

PAGE 7, PANEL 1;
I picked red, green and blue for these scenes because all colour comes from these colours. I picked yellow because I didn't want to repeat the other three.

PANEL 7;
The crowd mostly consist of original characters. But the crowd also includes one of the clowns from the original Claudia video, the koala from 'Team Australia', Malacefire, the Lobsterskunk, Shane the Chicken-monkey, the Disturbed Beaver, and even Hey Mister.

Waffley's armoured form is based off a previous design.

THE LATEST DREAM RAID - page # 6

PAGE 6, PANEL 1;
Waffley's transformation is based off of Bruce Banner's transformation to the Hulk in the older Marvel comics. The gold hair's inspiration should be obvious to any anime fan. You can also see that the girl Waffley was sitting across is brunette, not blonde, so it's obviously not Vanna T that Waffley's dreaming about.

PANEL 4;
I wanted to showcase how a dream changing over might look.

THE LATEST DREAM RAID - page # 5

PAGE 5, PANEL 1;
I admit, I had trouble trying to convey the idea of the dreamscape being abstract.

The girl is based off of an art inspired by Etherealmuneca. The boy is based directly off of how my first heroic character currently looks and will look once Emberedge is completed. The food the boy is eating is the Lichwich, which came from another TL:DR comic strip.

PANEL 3;
The 'date''s identity is purposely obstructed. The game Waffley is mentioning here and in the next panel is Primal Rage 2. If you know anything about me, you will not be surprised I included a reference to Primal Rage.

PANEL 4;
The first attacking monster is based off a clay creation I made using a piece of a dead crab's armoured body. The second is based off of the Robot Masters. The fourth monster's head is based off of B.O.R.D.E.N. The fifth monster is inspired by the Ninja Crows from Samurai Pizza Cats. The eighth is based off of sushi.

OFF PANEL;The recoloured bird originally came from my JonTron fanart.

THE LATEST DREAM RAID - page # 4

PAGE 4, PANEL 1;
On the left side of Waffley's closet, you can see a blank vinyl doll. On the right side, you can see Waffley's traditional hoodie.

In the crack of the "Waffley's Lab' door, you can clearly see Reese, asleep. (Which means The Latest Dream Raid chronologically takes place during the TL:DR movie.)

PANEL 2;
You can see the names of Waffley's game collection. Go ahead, read them.

PANEL 3;
As Ensens and Endiff enter the dreamscape, you can see several images in the background. The two 'doodles' are references to my very first hero and villain, respectively. You can also see Vanna T, the robot from the shelf, and a sketch of the skeleton of Sue the T.Rex.

THE LATEST DREAM RAID - page # 3

PAGE 3, PANEL 2;
The girl on the poster is a famous supermodel named Vanna T, her name was coined by Captain Tooner. Waffley is a huge fan of her's.

PANEL 3;
This room is almost exactly how my apartment from my second and third years of college looked.

The crab on the shelf is the exact same crab from the first page of the Surfing Waffle, just painted differently. The robot next to the crab on the shelf is meant to be a homage to the Chaos Space Marines of Warhammer 40k. The bowl of chilis on the refridgerator is the same one that appeared in the first TL:DR comic strip.

 PANEL 4;
The doll next to Waffley is named 'Gibbs'. He was given to me by NixDieAlley in January 2011 as a Christmas, and hasn't left my side since.

THE LATEST DREAM RAID - page # 2

PAGE 2, PANEL 1;
Ensens and Endiff introduce themselves. The name Ensens is derived from the word insensitive, while the name Endiff is derived from indifferent. Their personalities were meant to reflect these name choices.

On the screens behind the Durgels, you can see several creatures. The intent was to showcase 'creatures in the process of having their dreams raided.'

You can see creatures based on past 'co-characters' Anti-Ziggy and the Lieutenant in the middle row of screens. On the screen blocked out by Dawbaws' head is actually Iridescent, the main monster from the short story 'Iridescent Ersatz', now referred to simply as 'Ersatz'.

PANEL 2;
The shape of the Durgel spaceship was designed after a camera, to hammer home the idea of the Durgels essentially being paparazzi.

THE LATEST DREAM RAID - page # 1

PAGE 1, PANEL 1;
The Durgel on the roof of the building on the right is coloured the same as the Surfing Waffle.

The building on the left hand side of the page has a giant screen with a pink feminine Durgel apparently promoting a drink. The lettering on the screen is the native language of the Durgels. It does not have a translation. The image on the can she is holding is of a lesser known character, Broke.

The blue section of the middle building is essentially just the Legendary Mailboxman, minus the decorations.

I wanted the Durgel planet to look similar to Earth, but yet make it clear that this is an alien species.

PANEL 2;
The green Durgel is the head of the Network and although he is not named during the comic, his name is Dawbaws, derived from 'the boss.' He was intentionally designed to look different from Ensens and Endiff because I wanted to show that the Durgel race came in many varieties.
