Dooms Chapel Horror / The Hunt dual review

The short film 'The Hunt' was a short found footage film that eventually Digivolved into the one and a half film that we'll be talking about shortly, the Dooms Chapel Horror. This film enthusiast named Steven gives exposition as to how a number of cows ended being being killed in this local town, then people started to go missing, most turning up torn apart. Steven goes to the police hall where the Sheriff has gathered a ton of hunters together to go find whatever's been attacking their people and go blow its head up. Steven runs into his friend Dennie, hoping to get the event on tape.

Nostalgia Disruption fake game mockup

NOSTALGIA DISRUPTION is a (fictional) up-to-three-vs-three fighting game pitting some of the most well-known (and not so well known) heroes and villains from the 1980s and 1990s against each other in a bizarre new world ruled by the villainous Lord Disruptor. (Hence the name, he's literally disrupting nostalgia.) Nostalgia Disruption launches with 100 playable characters, before DLC, each character having at least one additional costume, some of which with different voice packs. You can pick a team of either one, two or three fighters, with optional assist characters (those circular mugshots) available. Each character can be equipped with up to two super moves and one Ultimate attack, with additional super moves and abilities unlocked throughout playing the game, all in-game currency. The traditional arcade mode is available to play, plus a vast and expansive story mode, the final boss being Lord Disruptor himself, in multiple forms. There will also be a mode where you play through individual stories for each character, given more insight into their motivations through the main story. In the story mode you'll have to play the teams you're given, but if you beat story mode and play it a second time, you'll be given the option to play a harder mode, where you can pick all unlocked characters for your teams for any fight, plus face off with more than one secret boss. The main story mode is a game onto itself, as you discover the world that Lord Disruptor has created, you'll learn just how and why each character arrived and if they choose to oppose or fight an omnipotent threat.

The roster consists of; Popeye the Sailor, "Wizard' Daffy Duck, 'King' Bugs Bunny, Batman, Spider-Man, Rock-Em Sock-Em Robot, Shaggy & Scooby-Doo, Garfield the cat, Inspector Gadget, Snake-Eyes, He-Man, Skeletor, Faker, Optimus Prime, Megatron, Storm-Shadow, Miyamoto Usagi, Michelangelo, Raphael, Donatello, Leonardo, Goku, Baxter Stockman, Peter Venkman, Egon Spengler, Ray Stantz, Winston Zeddemore, Bucky O' Hare, Jenny the Cat, Lion-O, Mumm-Ra, She-Ra, Hordak, The Tick, Pirate Lion, Gruseom Gator, General Patant, Piccolo, The Shredder, Krang, Vegeta, Venom, Bulletproof, Krulos, Bettlejuice, Burgerdier General, Frieza, Alita, Speedy Cerviche, Slash, Muckoid, Darkwing Duck, Negaduck, Mentor, Pinky & the Brain, Zack, Kimberly, Billy, Trini, Jason, Goldar, Tommy, Bad Mr. Frosty, Sauron, Diablo, Lord Zedd, Goliath, Ripster, Servo, Lipsyncher, Freakazoid, Dinobot, Megatron, Optimus Primal, Agumon, Gabumon, Jangutz Kahn, Onyx Primal, Myotismon, Black Agumon, Black Gabumon, Samurai Jack, Jacqui Briggs, Fulgore (Xbox exclusive), The Surfing Waffle, the Heart Wafflette, Grandfather, The Hollow Waffle, Pyrotzki, Mardiel, Waffleblades, Dark Waffleblades, Waffley, Reese, Awfully, Iridescent, Phosphorous, Modnar, Gideon and Lord Disruptor himself. Oh, and random select. And, aside from Fulgore and my OCs, all the characters have been listed in order of the year of their debut, Popeye debuted in 1929, Miss Briggs in 2015.

So, yeah, this was the original idea behind the mugshots.

About the June round-up...

Those blog posts got pretty much no views, so I'm canning the idea. For now.

Apologies to anyone who might have read those posts and got a kick out of them.

The Tenth Anniversary of Slender Man

Has any other character had a big of an impact, for good, for bad and for tragically bad, as the Slender Man? Probably. As any other character given so many people a means of getting their feet wet in the wide ocean of storytelling? Probably not.

May Round-Up

  • I ended the month viewing what I think they call a Blood Moon.
  • Mario Maker 2 looks delightful, at least until the details came out about online and no amiibo support.
  • Godzilla returned to save the world from Ghidorah.
  • AEW’s first big pay-per-view happened and it turned out pretty well.
  • I had my first ever audition for a television role.
  • I went to Pier 21 for the first time.
  • Dustin Runnels did not retire in AEW, and in fact will team with Cody to wrestle the Young Bucks.
  • The weather has apparently not gotten the memo as to what month it is.
  • Terri Runnels got arrested for a concealed weapon, which is shocking because it’s usually Sunny that’s in trouble.
  • WWE introduced the 25/7 title, a championship defended, well, all the time, which isn’t even a month old and has already had more matches than the Women’s Tag Team championships.
  • I had my fourth convention vending table, and sold the least amount that I’ve ever sold at one, a whopping fourteen dollars. But at least I can say I sold an art print, and it was a Piranha Plant one no less.
  • Somewhat ironically, I sold over thirty dollars of stuff locally at Mayfest.
  • WWE introduced the Wild Card Rule, where RAW and Smackdown wrestlers can appear on other shows, completely negating the point of the Superstar Shakeup.
  • Game of Thrones ended, controversially.
  • Tinkerprincess0 got me curious about TikTok.
  • Thanks to Epic Meal Time, I can’t get the image of Chicken Parmesan out of my head.
  • The Sonic movie will be delayed to give the staff time to make Sonic look...palatable.
  • I am almost finished the final season of Samurai Jack.
  • Avengers: Endgame concluded over ten years and twenty movies worth of story. Where the MCU goes from here is anyone’s guess.
  • I had sushi for the first time in a long time, which was great for my tongue but not so much for the gluten intolerance and gout.
  • Batman has crossed over with the Ninja Turtles so many times now, it’s a wonder Warner Brothers didn’t buy them and not Viacom.
  • Dean Ambrose is no more. Say hello to Jon Moxley.
  • I got some skin tags burnt off. They’ve healed over quite nicely.
  • Archer is back and is in space now because.
  • Speaking of skin tags, Andrew Scheer. (That’s the punchline.)
  • WWE Monday Night RAW actually managed to get even stupider.
  • YouTube still sucks.
  • The Dark Crystal will shine again. On Netflix.
  • Ric Flair is still with us after yet another health scare.
  • It’s been twenty years since the accident that claimed the life of Owen Hart.
  • Grumpy Cat passed away.
  • Ashley Massaro passed away, tragically, and the world of wrestling stepped in to help out her young daughter.

April round-up

April has always been a troublesome month. Well, not that the other months are any better, but it always seems like the tragic, life-changing ****

So, let's see what April brought this year, shall we?

  • Joker turned out to be worth the wait in Smash Bros.
  • A little known show called Game of Thrones returned for its final season - and was pirated immediately.
  • Gotham’s final season involves a time-skip.
  • The Notre Dame cathedral burned down.
  • Questions about people’s choice of charities care into question afterwards.
  • Kofi Kingston became the first African-born WWE World Heavyweight champion.
  • Daniel Bryan is currently out with an undisclosed injury.
  • Kurt Angle’s final match was losing to Boring Corbin.
  • All in all WrestleMania 35 wasn’t that bad.
  • Except that Bret Hart was attacked during the Hall of Fame by a disturbed man.
  • That disturbed man got attacked by half the locker room as a delightful result.
  • The Superstar Shakeup left some questionable decisions.
  • Batista wrestled his final match.
  • Dean Ambrose will be leaving WWE.
  • Luke Harper wants out too.
  • So does Sasha Banks.
  • Goldust has also left WWE and will be having what will presumably be his retirement match in AEW, against Cody Rhodes.
  • Reggie retired from Nintendo.
  • We found a new store for cheap fruit and vegetables.
  • One Punch Man season 2 begun.
  • The Shredder will apparently be making his way to Rise of the TMNT (and it might just be the shot in the arm the show desperately needs.)
  • Mortal Kombat 11 launched.
  • The Mortal Kombat 11 DLC will supposedly feature a very different clown than I was expecting.
  • Kronika’s kind of a stupid villain.
  • Mortal Kombat 12’ story will be very intriguing.
  • So did that new Power Rangers fighting game. (We got Mecha-Dragon Trini instead of Trini-Trini.)
  • I’ve finished over twenty mugshots.
  • Finally managed to watch some episodes from Samurai Jack’s final season.
  • Saw the Pickle Rick episode. Worst forced meme ever.
  • I saw the 25th anniversary special episode of Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel. (Why does Tommy still get top-billing?)
  • A baby Tyrannosaur fossil will be going to some rich knob’s collection instead of a museum.
  • Mark Hamill will be taking up the mantle of Chucky.
  • The new Muppet Babies cartoon is delightful.
  • The aftermath of the Mueller Report is still up in the air.
  • Vic Mignogna won’t go away.

March round-up

I must apologize, I did not put much work behind this post.

  • I saw a whole bunch of movies this month, including Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse.
  • We've got another My Hero Academia movie to look forward to.
  • I uploaded my one-thousandth upload to deviantArt.
  • WrestleMania will, for the first time ever, feature the Women's division in the main event, giving Becky Lynch a unique honour; being one of only two non-American wrestlers to compete in the main event of 'Mania. The other being Andre the Giant.
  • I'm rereading my Battle Angel Alita mangas and my Bone graphic novels.
  • Shantae 5 was announced.
  • Still dealing with gout.
  • Most of the snow's gone.

  • The TMNT will bot only meet up with Batman again for another five issues, they'll also been meeting up in a new animated movie!

  • Kofi Kingston's hour long performance on a recent episode of Smackdown Live.

Piranha-Army!

Fun fact, this was the first thing I finished making in 2019.
Nope, I'm not done making Piranha Plant art! (I wonder how he'll play in Smash Bros. I bet he's high-tier!)

January round-up

The whole idea behind a 'round-up' was due in part to a desire to keep the blog going and promote and/or talk about whatever else I might be doing at the time of the writing. I will be making a round up post every month from now on, regardless of what's occured.

- I started a painting of Izuku "Deku" Midoriya.
- Kingdom Hearts 3 has finally arrived! And got, for the most part, a satisfying conclusion.
- The Godzilla anime trilogy on Netflix ended on a rather meh note.
- I finally posted to Newgrounds.
- I wrote my first "Creepypasta" story.
- We've got a new Power Rangers fighting game coming up.
- George Perez, co-creator of the New Teen Titans and a true legend in the comic book industry retired this month. The tributes have just poured in on masse.
- I've been reorganizing the files on my hard drive. (I think I'd rather chew nails.)
- I did a comparison between a drawing of Battle Angel Alita I did in 2009 to one I did this month.
- Dolph Ziggler liked my drawing of him, again. (Special thanks to Rob Schamberger.)

And, uh, that's all I can think of, see you in February!
